11 FEBRUARY 2019 - THE SCOTS IN EIGHTEENTH CENTURY ROME: ARTISTS, ANTIQUARIANS AND ART DEALERS

By the second half of the eighteenth century, a number of highly educated Scotsmen, had all but cornered the market as guides and mentors to British tourists in Rome and Naples.  These ‘men o’ pairts’ represented  the Scottish Enlightenment abroad.

Lectures are held in the Walker Hall,Troon(MAP) and last about one hour.

Members should be seated by 1.20pm for a prompt 1.30pm start.
