14 JANUARY 2019 - SINAN AND THE GLORIES OF OTTOMAN ARCHITECTURE

The prolific 16th century Ottoman royal architect Sinan produced more great buildings than Wren. He worked mainly for Suleiman the Magnificent, and his buildings dominate the skyline of old Istanbul. His career was inseparable from Ottoman court life and society dramas.

Lectures are held in the Walker Hall,Troon(MAP) and last about one hour.

Members should be seated by 1.20pm for a prompt 1.30pm start.
