 9 OCTOBER  THE SCULPTED HORSE: THEMES IN EQUINE SCULPTURE - LECTURER VIV LAWES

The traditional symbol of military might and fiscal power, an emblem of nature in all her gentleness and cruelty, and sporting icon of impeccable breeding: the horse is a reflection of mankind’s most positive views of itself. These themes are discussed in this lecture through the medium of sculpture from pre-history to the present day.



Lectures are held in the Walker Hall,Troon(MAP) and last about one hour.

Members should be seated by 1.20pm for a prompt 1.30pm start.
